Matthew 20:20~21:11 (마태복음 20:20~21:11)

20 Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Jesus with his sons, kneeling down, asked a favor of him.

20 그 때에 세배대의 아들의 어미가 그 아들들을 데리고 예수께 와서 절하며 무엇을 구하니

21 "What is it you want?" he asked. She said, "Grant that one of these sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom."

21 예수께서 가라사대 무엇을 원하느뇨 가로되 이 나의 두 아들을 주의 나라에서 하나는 주의 우편에, 하나는 주의 좌편에 앉게 명하소서

22 "You don't know what you are asking." Jesus said to them "Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?" "We can," they answered.

22 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 너희 구하는 것을 너희가 알지 못하는도다 나의 마시려는 잔을 너희가 마실 수 있느냐 저희가 말하되 할 수 있나이다

23 Jesus said to them, You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father."

23 가라사대 너희가 과연 내 잔을 마시려니와 내 좌우편에 앉는 것은 나의 줄 것이 아니라 내 아버지께서 누구를 위하여 예비하셨든지 그들이 얻을 것이니라

24 When the ten heard about this, they were indignant with the two brothers. 

24 열 제자가 듣고 그 두 형제에 대하여 분히 여기거늘

 

25 Jesus called them together and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentile lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them.

25 예수께서 제자들을 불러다가 가라사대 이방인의 집권자들이 저희를 임의로 주관하고 그 대인들이 저희에게 권세를 부리는 줄을 너희가 알거니와

26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant. 

26 너희 중에는 그렇지 아니하니 너희 중에 누구든지 크고자 하는 자는 너희를 섬기는 자가 되고

27 and whoever wants to be must be your slave.

27 너희 중에 누구든지 으뜸이 되고자 하는 자는 너희 종이 되어야 하리라

28 Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."  

28 인자가 온 것은 섬김을 받으려 함이 아니라 도리어 섬기려 하고 자기 목숨을 많은 사람의 대속물로 주려 함이니라

 

29 As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him.

29 저희가 여리고에서 떠나갈 때에 큰 무리가 예수를 좇더라

30 The two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by , they shouted, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!"

30 소경 둘이 길가에 앉았다가 예수께서 지나가신다 함을 듣고 소리질러 가로되 주여 우리를 불쌍히 여기소서 다윗의 자손이여 하니

31 The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!"

31 무리가 꾸짖어 잠잠하라 하되 더욱 소리 질러 가로되 주여 우리르 불쌍히 여기소서 다윗이 자손이여 하는지라

32 Jesus stoppped and called them. "What do you want me to do for you?" he asked.

32 예수께서 머물러 서서 저희를 부르시니

33 "Lord," they answered, "We want our sight." 

33 가라사대 너희에게 무엇을 하여 주기를 원하느냐 가로되 주여 눈 뜨기를 원하나이다

34 Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.

34 예수께서 민망히 여기사 저희 눈을 만지시니 곧 보게 되어 저희가 예수를 좇으니라

 

1 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, 

1 저희가 예루살렘에 가까이 와서 감람산 벳바게에 이르렀을 때에 예수께서 두 제자를 보내시며

2 saying to them, "Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me.  

2 이르시되 너희 맞은편 마을로 가라 곧 매인 나귀와 나귀 새끼가 함께 있는 것을 보리니 풀어 내게로 끌고 오너라

3 If anyone says anything to you, tell him that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away."  

3 만일 누가 무슨 말을 하거든 주가 쓰시겠다고 하라 그리하면 즉시 보내리라 하시니

 

4 This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:

4 이는 선지로 하신 말씀을 이루려 하심이라 일렀으되

5 "Say to the Daughter of Zion, 'See, your kingdom comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

5 시온 딸에게 이르기를 네 왕이 네게 임하나니 그는 겸손하여 나귀, 곧 멍에 매는 짐승의 새끼를 탔도다 하라 하였느니라

6 The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them.

6 제자들이 가서 예수의 명하신 대로 하여

7 They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them.

7 나귀와 나귀 새끼를 끌고 와서 자기들의 겉옷을 그 위에 얹으매 예수께서 그 위에 타시니

8 A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

8 무리의 대부분은 그 겉옷을 길에 펴며 다른 이는 나무가지를 베어 길에 펴고

9 The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Hosanna in the highest!"

9 앞에서 가고 뒤에서 따르는 무리가 소리 질러 가로되 호산나 다윗의 자손이여 찬송하리로다 주의 이름으로 오시는 이여 가장 높은 곳에서 호산나 하더라

10 When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, "Who is this?"

10 예수께서 예루살렘에 들어가시니 온 성이 소동하여 가로되 이는 누구뇨 하거늘

11 The crowds answered, "This is Jesus, the prophets from Nazareth in Galilee."

11 무리가 가로되 갈릴리 나사렛에서 나온 선지자 예수라 하니라
