1. Twas on that night when doomed to know

유월절 때가 이르매
The eager spite of every foe,
주 팔리시던 날 밤에
That night in which He was betrayed,
온 제자 들러 모인 중
The saviour of the world took bread.
주께서 떡을 가지사

2. And, after thanks and glory given

천지를 다스리시는
To Him that rules in earth and heaven,
천부께 사례하시고
That Symbol of His flesh He broke,
몸 가리키는 떡 떼며
And thus to all his followers spoke.
제자들에게 이르사

3. "My broken body thus I give

이것은 너희 위한 몸
For you, for all, Take, eat, and live.
다 함께 받아먹어라
And oft the sacred rite renew
인자의 죽음 전하며
That brings my saving love to view."
날 기억하라 하셨네

4. Then in His hands the cup He raised,

그 후에 손에 잔 들고
And God anew He thanked and praised,
또 다시 사례하실 때
While kindness in His bosom glowed,
주님의 얼굴 빛나며
And from His lips salvation flowed.
입 열어 말씀하셨네

5. "My blood I thus pour forth," He cries,

이 잔은 내 피로 세운
"To cleanse the soul in sin that lies
너희를 위한 새 언약
In this the covenant is sealed,
영원한 언약 그대로
And heav'n's eternal grace revealed."

6. "With love to man this cup is fraught

이 잔을 입에 댈 때에
Let all partake the sacred draught
주사랑 마심 같으니
Through latest ages let it pour,
그 몸과 그 피 내 속에
