Matthew 3:13~17 (마태복음 3:13~17)

13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.

13 이때에 예수께서 갈릴리로서 요단 강에 이르러 요한에게 세례를 받으시려 하신대

14 But John tried to deter him,saying, "I need to be baptized by you, do you come to me?"

14 요한이 말려 가로되 내가 당신에게 세례를 받아야 할 터인데 당신이 내게로 오시나이까

deter 단념시키다 막다

15 Jesus replied, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness." Then John consented.

15 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 이제 허락하라 우리가 이와 같이 하여 모든 의를 이루는 것이 합당하니라 하신대 이에 요한이 허락하는지라

let it be so now는 '(상황을) 있는 그대로 두어라'의 의미 사역동사 let+명사구(목적어)+동사의 원형구문

it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness는 '가주어 it + 의미상 주어 for us + 진주어 to부정사'의 구문이며 to fulfill 이하는 to 부정사 부사적 용법 (~하기 위하여)

consent  동의(승낙)(하다)

16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened , and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. 

16 예수께서 세례를 받으시고 곧 물에서 올라오실쌔 하늘이 열리고 하나님의 영광이 비둘기 같이 내려 자기 위에 임하심을 보시더니

descend 내려가다

he saw the Spirit of God descending~ : 지각동사(see)+명사구(목적어) + 현재분사

17 And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."

17 하늘로서 소리가 있어 말씀하시되 이는 내 사랑하는 아들이요 내 기뻐하는 자라 하시니라
