Matthew 21:23~32 (마태복음 21:23~32)  

23 Jesus entered the temple courts, and, while he was teaching, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him. "By what authority are you doing these things?" they asked. "And who gave you the authority?"

23 예수께서 성전에 들어가 가르치실쌔 대제사장들과 백성의 장로들이 나아와 가로되 네가 무슨 권세로 이런 일을 하느뇨 또 누가 이 권세를 주었느냐

24 Jesus replied, "I will also ask you one question. If you answered me, I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things.

24 예수께서 대답하시되 나도 한 마릉 너희에게 무르리니 너희가 대답하면 나도 무슨 권세로 이런 일을 하는지 이르리라

25 John's baptism-where did it come from? Was it from heaven, or from men?" They discussed it among themselves and said, "If you say, 'From heaven,' he will ask, 'Then why didn't you believe him?' 

25 요한의 세례가 어디로서 왔느냐 하늘로서냐 사람에게로서냐 저희가 서로 의논하여 가로되 만일 하늘로서라 하면 어찌하여 저를 믿지 아니하였느냐 할 것이요

26 But if we say 'From men'-we are afraid of people, for they all hold that John was a prophet."

26 만일 사람에레로서라 하면 모든 사람이 요한을 선지자로 여기니 백성이 무섭다 하여

27 So they answered Jesus, "We don't know." Then he said, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.  

27 예수께서 대답하여 가로되 우리가 알지 모사노라 하니 예수께서 가라사대 나도 무슨 권세로 이런 일을 하는지 너희에게 이르지 아니하리라

28 "What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, 'Son, go and work today in the vine-yard.' 

28 그러나 너희 생각에는 어떠하뇨 한 사람이 두 아들이 있는데 맏아들에게 가서 이르되 애 오늘 포도원에 가서 일하라 하니

29 "'I will not,' he answered, but later he changed his mind and went. 

29 대답하여 가로되 아버지여 가겠소이다 하더니 가지 아니하고

30 "Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, 'I will, sir, ' but he did not go. 

30 둘째 아들에게 가서 또 이같이 말하니 대답하여 가로되 싫소이다 하더니 그 후에 뉘우치고 갔으니

31 "Which of the two did what his father wanted?" "The first," they answered,  

31그 둘 중에 누가 아비의 뜻대로 하였느뇨 가로되 둘째 아들이니이다 예수께서 저희에게 이르시되 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 세리들과 창기들이 너희보다 먼저 하나님 나라에 들어가리라

32 For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.  

32 요한이 의의 도로 너희에게 왔거늘 너희는 저를 믿지 아니하였으되 세리와 창기는 믿었으며 너희는 이것을 보고도 종시 뉘우쳐 믿지 아니하였도다
