38 "You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.'

38 또 눈은 눈으로, 이는 이로 갚으라 하였다는 것을 너희가 들었으나

39 But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.

39 나는 너희에게 이르노니 악한자를 대적지말라 누구든지 네 오른 빰을 치거든 왼편도 돌려 대며

If someone strikes you on the right cheek 는 '누군가가 너의 오른 뺨을 떄리거든' (동사+목적어+전치사+the+신체의 부위)의 의미로 If someone strikes your right cheek보다 관용적인 표현

40 And someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well.

40 또 너를 송사하여 속옷을 가지고자 하는 자에게 겉옷까지도 가지게 하며

41 또 누구든지 너로 억지로 오리를 가게 하거든 그 사람과 십리를 동행하고
