Matthew 7:6~14 (마태복음 7:6~14) 

6 "Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs,

If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces. 

6 거룩한 것을 개에게 주지 말며 너희 진주를 돼지 앞에 던지지 말라

저희가 그것을 발로 밟고 돌이켜 너희를 찢어 상할까 염려하라

scared 신성한 거룩한

trample 짓밟다

If you do는 If you give what is sacred and throw your pearls의 뜻

tear A to pieces각 조각(갈기 갈기) 짖어 놓다

7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

7 구하라 그리하면 너희에게 주실 것이요 찾으라 그러면 찾을 것이요 문을 두드리라 그러면 너희에게 열릴 것이니

Ask and it will be given to you : 명령문 + and ~ (~해라 그러면 ~할것이다)의 구문

8 For everyone who asks recieves; he who seek finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

8 구하는 이마다 얻을 것이요 찾는 이가 찾을 것이요 두드리는 이에게 열릴 것이니라

he who~ : '~하는 사람'의 의미 (참고) those who ~는 '~하는 사람들'의 의미 (7:11)

9 "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?

9 너희 중에 누가 아들이 떡을 달라 하면 돌을 주며

if his son asks for bread는 삽입절

ask for는 '~을 요청(요구)하다'

which of you는 '너희 중에 어느 누가'를 뜻하며 전체적으는 수사의문문

10 Or he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?

10 생선을 달라 하면 뱀을 줄 사람이 있겠느냐

11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts for your chidren,

how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

11 너희가 악한 자라도 좋은 것으로 자식에게 줄 줄 알거든

하물며 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께서 구하는 자에게 좋은 것으로 주시지 않겠느냐

12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you,

for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

12 그러므로 무엇이든지 나메게 대접을 받고자 하는 대로 너희도 남을 대접하라

이것이 율법이요 선지자니라

what you would have them do to you : '너희가 다른 이들이 너희에게 해주도록 시키고자 원하는 것'의 의미이며 would는 '원하다' , have는 (~시키다)로 '사역동사+ 목적어+ 동사의 원형'

sum up은 '합아여 ~이 되다'의 뜻

13 "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to distruction,

and many enter through it.

13 좁은 문으로 들어가라 멸망으로 인도하는 문은 크고 그 길이 넓어 그리로 들어가는 자가 많고

14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

14 생명으로 인도하는 문은 좁고 길이 협착하여 찾는 이가 적음이니라
