1. O Holy City, seen of John,

주 예수 다스리시는
Where Christ, the Lamb, doth reign,   
저 거룩한 곳은
Within whose foursquare walls shall come   
이 땅의 가난과 슬픔
No night, nor need, nor pain,   
또 어둠 없는 곳
And where the tears are wiped from eyes   
주께서 나의 눈물을
That shall not weep again!   
다 씻어 주시네
   
2. O shame to us who rest content

주 우리 위해 죽으신
 While lust and greed for gain  
 그 공로 잊고서
 In street and shop and tenement  
이 세상 물질 좇아서
Wring gold from human pain,  
나 방황하였네
And bitter lips in blind despair Cry,   
내 주를 떠나 살던 몸
"Christ hath died in vain!"   
주 앞에 옵니다
   
3. Give us, O God, the strength to build

나 오랫동안 바라던
The city that hath stood   
저 천국 들어가
Too long a dream, whose laws are love,   
뭇 성도들과 영원히
Whose ways are brotherhood,  

주 찬양하리니
And where the sun that shineth is God's  
햇빛보다 밝은 빛
grace for human good.   

내 주의 빛이라
   
4. Already in the mind of God

내 주님 예비하신 곳
That city riseth fair  
저 영원한 집에
Lo how its splendor challenges   
내 일생 동안 힘 다해
The souls that greatly dare,   
그 길을 가리니
Yea, bids us seize the whole of life   
이 후에 내가 들어가
And build its glory there. Amen.
